Welcome to my BA (Hons) Illustration portfolio! In this section you’ll find a selection of some of the art and illustrations created during my time at University.
For a project that wanted us to explore a place that we wanted to explore, I chose Pakistan. Although it is my background, there was still so much I don’t know about the country and places I’ve always wanted to explore. So after researching, I found out about the five provinces of Pakistan and decided to make a set of posters to represent them. I digitally drew the most popular landmarks in each province and traditionally drew the border and the design on it.
With the university currently holding a degree show, showcasing student work over the year, my artistic creation was a sculpture of a blossom tree made using paper quilling. I enjoy creating fun, playful scenes and hope that this blossom tree is representative of that in a 3D form!
After researching the moon, I wished to visually portray at least two facts or features. I decided to do this by illustrating a book cover. Book cover 1 represents the moon's gravitational pull on the Earth, resulting in the tides. Book cover 2 shows the phases of the moon from full moon to new moon.
Within the last few months, my love for baking has grown. To share that passion, for a live brief from Handmade Nottingham, I created two designs for products to sell that showcase this. Design 1 features baked goods, and design 2 features elements of the baking process.
As part of a live brief from Lion & Leopard, I created a surface pattern design featuring fruits and flowers. After seeing how popular fruits and flowers are as individual designs for children's and baby wear, I decided to combine the two within the same pattern, using fruits and also the very flowers of those fruit plants.
In June 2024, I was selected, among a few other students who attempted the brief, to be featured in Lion & Leopard's online newsletter. It was an incredible opportunity!
